Coworking Review

A working art gallery that doubles as a 24/7 cowork space, with an in-house barista, podcast studios and a Reformer Pilates room. Roamwork is the most distinctive coworking brand in Cape Town — by some distance.

Roamwork occupies the second floor of The Harrington at 50 Harrington Street, deep in the East City / District Six creative quarter. The lobby is a manned art gallery, the corridors hang collector pieces, and the workspace itself wraps around an event venue that fits 90+ people. Day-to-day, members get a private barista, podcast and photography studios, a Reformer Pilates studio (the Movement Studio), showers, lockers and bicycle parking. All facilities run on privately generated power — Eskom load shedding is a non-event here. Reception is 8am-5pm weekdays but members have 24-hour access.

Honest trade-offs: Roamwork doesn't publish day pass or monthly rates online — you have to enquire, which makes price-shopping impossible. East City is buzzing during business hours but goes quiet after dark, so factor in safe transport home if you plan to stay late.
